LDPDL Presents at Virtual AIAA Scitech
Although conferences have been converted into a virtual format this year, the LDPDL still had a large presence at AIAA Scitech 2021. Atulya, Hayden, Maddie, and Yue all presented some of their research and were able to have good discussions about their work with the community. As of this post, their recorded presentations are still available on the Scitech platform. Their papers can also be found at the following links (Atulya, Hayden, Maddie, Yue).
Lab members are awarded NASA fellowships
In the spring, two LDPDL members, Maddie and Hayden, were chosen as NASA Space Technology Graduate Research Opportunities (NSTGRO) fellows. They will be paired with NASA collaborators to help advance their research and will visit NASA centers as a part of visiting technologist experiences. A full list of 2020 fellowship awardees can be found here: https://www.nasa.gov/directorates/spacetech/strg/nstgro_2020/.
Beamed Propulsion Video
NASA created a video for our NIAC beamed propulsion project that Hayden, Rohan, Will, and Diego are investigating. Check it out here…
Lab Members attend AIAA AVIATION
In June, multiple lab members attended the 2019 AIAA AVIATION Forum in Dallas, Texas. Yue, Maddie, and Boris each presented work discussed in conference papers. You can check out their papers here, here, and here. Dr. Limbach also gave a presentation on the effects of atmospheric variation on in-flight sonic boom prediction with LIDAR. It was a great week of research feedback, networking, and learning about the future of flight, all at a venue only a few hours from College Station!
